This is my first experience with book of this kind. I was interested mostly in fiction novels and I hated reading this advising books. I have a kind friend with whom I share most of my happy and sad moments. At one point, when I was worried about my career and prattling, he prescribed me this book. As expected, this book took care of my mental ailment and changed my view towards this kind of book.

A 53 year old busy lawyer Julian Mantle, well known for his litigating skills suddenly gets a heart attack when in court argument. He is wealthy enough to own a large penthouse, Ferrari and all other luxuries he expected to have. After the heart attack he sells all his properties, even his Ferrari (there goes the reason for title) and travels east for spiritual quest. After some days, he as a monk surprisingly returns with completely changed view and attitude to one of his former associate John’s home. He looks younger and brighter than before. He preaches John all the lessons he learnt from Yogi Raman – one of the sages in Himalayas and asks him to spread this knowledge as he did. Mantle uses yogi raman’s fables to express the importance of life – more than money – and some techniques to achieve that. These techniques and fables are well known for an average Indian.

The story is such that John – associate of Julian Mantle – tells the story. The seven virtues Master your mind, Follow your purpose, Practice kaizen, Live with discipline, Repent your time, selflessly serve others, Embrace the present, will lead you to wisdom if followed. The most important thing, this book is not boring at any part.

Reading these quotes refreshes mind, when in low confidence.

I liked the movie Bourne Identity and its sequels. When in Local Library I saw this book “Bourne Identity” by Robert Ludlum. Heard the movie version is slightly different from the book version. The curiosity to find the difference made me read it.

Gist of the movie is “Jason Bourne is an under-cover agent who worked for US. Because of some unexpected events, he loses his memory, even he forgets his name. But the qualities and techniques of assassin within him remain. He is trying to find who he is in every possible way. His identity was revealed on this search which is no-no for under-cover. So, the agency which created him wants to destroy him. Finally he finds out his Identity and his employers.

The difference between the book and its adoption is very large. It’s like only half of the book taken as movie first part. In the book, Jason Bourne is not really Jason Bourne, it’s the name he chosen himself. At last he finds out, he is David Webb. But in movie series, this happens only in the third part “Bourne Ultimatum”.

In movie, the US Intelligence Agency is portrayed as negative role, but in book there is much more powerful villain “Carlos the Jackal”. Nobody knows who he is. He is virtually non existent. He works in stealth and is the greatest assassin in the world. Jason Bourne is created to trap Carlos.

It’s true that the whole book cannot be taken as a movie. I felt in between while reading, in some places, some characters and situations are only to increase the length of the book.

I can say the movie is more interesting than book. The book is more intriguing than movie.

Initially I used to design the sites with just HTML and CSS. I was very comfortable with it and happy to do it. There came the villain. Clients used to call me for every additions and modification in the content. Although it is simple and easy, I felt it as useless and waste of time to edit the html files again and again. To avoid this annoying I started making the websites with Open Source Content Management Systems. In fact I hate to use others work, have to do it some times when there is no other way. It also consumes some time to get the knowledge of the target CMS.

Recently I felt, why I have to use the others work, when I am capable of doing my own. I can list out numerous advantages on it. I am aware it consumes more time than using and learning others available work. I am going to count on satisfaction after completion.

This is one reason. I got another. I can call that as inspiration. I am using Windows Live Writer for uploading contents to my blogs. I feel editing and uploading contents this way is lot more easier than doing through administration pages comes with CMS. So if I design application of that sort and give it to clients I can avoid the annoying. But this is long term objective of this project. Here are the objectives/requirements for the initial version of Xpress CMS.

1. Simple and Understandable Administrative Panel
2. User Authentication.
3. Theme/Template Selection
4. Light Weight. Must occupy lesser space.
5. XML-RPC implementation (for writer application)

I planned to do this project using PHP and MySQL, frontrunners in open source development. Going to use whatever latest technologies strikes my mind, not forgetting the objectives.

I am managing the code with Google Codes. If you want to contribute or take part in this project, you are always welcome. I initiated this, but I don’t want it to be all mine. Contributors will get their respective credits. If you participate, it is not mine, it is ours.

Yesterday night itself battery is totally down. so i can’t call and search. I can’t do anything there other than scolding the unknown person, who took it, with whatever comes to mind and mouth. After I reached the guest house, where I am staying in Jalandhar, called my own number. The same bastard attended the call and spoke. When enquired, he told he was in Jammu. When I told him that was my mobile he disconnected and switched off.

Since I am in other state. I can’t even complain it to police. Even if I complain it may change my schedule of stay here. All I did was I locked my mobile number so that I can retain the balance after getting other SIM card with same number.

Instead of living this way, those people can earn by begging the beggars. Lot comes to my mind. To maintain decency I am not writing all those here. Nothing will bring my phone back to me anyway. Engirundhaaaaalum vaaallgaaaaaaaaaa..
